He added that the film will also air in Singapore, Indonesia and Brunei as well as trying to penetrate other Asian markets such as Taiwan, China and Japan. Upin Ipin Keris Siamang costing almost RM20 million has taken five years to complete besides using local expertise.

The adventure began when Upin, Ipin and his friends, Mail, Jarjit, May May, Susanti, Ehsan and Fizi stumbled upon the mystical kris in a room at Tok Dalang's house which led them to the world of Inderaloka's kingdom of fantasy.
When looking for a way home, they had to shoulder the task of opposing King Bersiong with the help of some of the popular fairy-tale characters of the Malay community such as Mat Jenin, Pak Belalang, Red Onion, Garlic and others to restore the well-being of the Inderaloka government.
